Year 12 ~ Economics AS Level

Autumn Term 2008 ~ First Half Term: Module1: Pupils learn how markets work - demand, supply, price, elasticity; market systems; opportunity cost; Pupils will also study why markets fail - externalities, pollution, taxation;

Autumn Term 2008 ~ Second Half Term: Module1: Pupils learn how markets work - demand, supply, price, elasticity; market systems; opportunity cost; Pupils will also study why markets fail - externalities, pollution, taxation;

Spring Term 2009 ~ First Half Term: Module 2: In this module, students study macroeconomics ... the 'big' picture and major issues affecting all economies, including ~ inflation, unemployment, economic growth, balance of payments, exchange rates, aggregate demand & supply, fiscal and monetary policies; We also study development economics, looking in detail at the rich and poor countries, how poor countries can develop, and what stops them from doing so ~ measures of development, including Human Development Index (HDI)
