Drama
Autumn Term 2007 ~ First Half Term: Boal and Political Theatre: Students will learn about the work of drama practitioner Augusto Boal. They will learn about the 3 different types of theatre that he created and they will use these to create political pieces of theatre.
Autumn Term 2007 ~ Second Half Term: Melodrama: Students will learn about the history of Melodrama, this will include working with stock characters and looking at the famous story of 'Maria Marten and The Murder in the Red Barn'.
Spring Term 2008 ~ First Half Term: Richard III: Linking in with the English curriculum and the SATs examinations students will study the play through practical workshops.
Spring Term 2008 ~ Second Half Term: Kindertransport: Students will learn about the historical event of the Kindertransport and use drama to explore the impact on the children involved.
Summer Term 2008 ~ First Half Term: Listen To Your Parents: Through the play written by Benjamin Zephaniah students will complete practical activities based around the text and the issue of domestic violence.
Summer Term 2008 ~ Second Half Term: Stage Fighting: Students will take part in a number of practical workshops that will teach them the basics of stage fighting and how to carry out moves safely and realistically.
