MR RAMIZ ~ ENGLISH
Year 10
Please view the film (The Sandman) on the following link. Students are to pick out how camera shots, music and any other features that they notice, create a scary atmosphere for the viewer. They are familiar with the film and will be completing a coursework based on this. If they cannot access the film they can write out what sort of music, film shots and so on they would use to create a scary atmosphere in their own film.

Year 9
Students are to look at the sheet attached to the email. One of these products has been designed for children, and one has been designed for adults. They need to look at colours, images, words used, how the chocolates are presented and so on. They need to identify which product is for adults and which is for children and they need to have four reasons for each product. They will need to have this ready to discuss their next lesson back. This is preparation for their media exam.
Year 8
Students are to prepare their own fable. This is a SHORT story that has animal characters and which has a moral. Examples of this are ‘The Tortoise and the Hare’ and ‘The Fox and the Crow’. I would like them to include dialogue writing if they know how to do this. We will be writing this up in good as an APP task in class. They can see an example of an excellent little fable at the following link:

Year 7
I would like the Year 7s to create their own superhero. These heroes can have a superhero costume, ONE superpower and a cool name. If students are particularly keen, a future homework available on the BBC will be to design a Doctor Who comic on the BBC website. These cannot be saved online and MUST be printed. They do not have to do this, only if they do not have enough work to do, but they MUST have designed their own superhero.
